After spending eight years building two successful gyms on Kauai's east and south sides, small business owner Joshua Nations recognized that the island's North Shore lacked vital access to any fitness services. Josh's goal was to step away from his existing Kauai Athletic Club brand to bring a fresh fitness experience to the Kilauea community, providing locals with the space, services, and experienced staff they need to connect and live healthier happier lives.

With that vision in mind, Josh turned to DEUX to create his brand from the ground up. The client wanted a brand that captured the energy of the island and fostered a sense of community and connection regardless of fitness goals or experience. Everyone is welcome at KPE.

We developed a brand strategy that communicates a clear vision for the space and messaging rooted in the values of community, accessibility, and expertise. In addition, the visual identity pulls colors from the island's natural beauty with typography and design elements inspired by the vintage feeling the island reverberates, appealing to locals and visitors alike. Finally, the strategy and design live cohesively across physical and digital touchpoints. We designed everything from environmental graphics, signage, merchandise, and print materials to a new brand website.

What did our work DEUX? Outside of a strong brand presence that will stand out in a small island community, KPE's website acts as a one-stop shop for all client purchases. We seamlessly integrated Mindbody software into the site making purchase options clear and streamlining all transactions within an easy-to-navigate user experience.

Due to supply chain issues, the gym will not open its doors until February 2022. However, the strength of the website provides a connective brand experience that drives purchase, providing much-needed early revenue without exploring a physical location.
